Magnesium is essential for people but also for animals and plants. It exists in the form of magnesium ions in the blood, body, cells and bones. As the organism cannot produce this vital substance itself, it must be supplied every day in a sufficient quantity.
In today’s food, magnesium has become a typically lacking mineral, for which our eating habits are partly responsible. According to the recommendation of the German Society for Nutrition (DGE), 300 milligram is the standard value for the daily dosage. Pregnant woman, nursing mothers and competitive athletes have an increased demand. Also stress, an unbalanced diet and certain diseases can cause magnesium deficiency.
If our body lacks magnesium we are, for example, nervous and easily irritable. Headaches, lack of concentration, tiredness and muscle cramps can also be a consequence. Furthermore the mineral magnesium is a flavour-enhancer in water and provides better taste results in coffee, tea, daily drinking pleasure and cooking.
Besides taste-inhibiting and undesired substances e.g. chlorine, lead and copper, conventional table-top water filters also remove important minerals, e.g. the flavour-enhancer magnesium. As a result of this filtering, water often tastes stale. BWT has now solved this problem: thanks to the new Mg2+ technology, tap water can be freed not only from lime, taste-inhibiting and undesired substances, but also enriched with the physiologically valuable magnesium.
The result: particularly tasty water – perfect for daily drinking pleasure and optimal aroma of coffee and tea.
