Table water filters function using a simple principle: the jug is filled with tap water from the top, which seeps through a replaceable filter cartridge and drips down into the storage container.
The filtering process takes place in the cartridge, which is filled with filter granulate. The filter granules consist of a mixture of activated carbon and ion-exchangers. Through its large surface, the activated carbon binds with any taste-inhibiting substances e.g. chlorine and chlorine compounds. The ion-exchangers absorb calcareous substances (e.g. calcium) and heavy metals (e.g. lead and copper) and in this way remove them from the filtered water.
A filter for coarse and fine particles on the inflow as well as at the outflow of the cartridges ensures the removal of particles contained in the water, e.g. limescale particles or rust.
Magnesium makes the difference!
The special feature of the filtering process using BWT Mg2+ technology is the addition of magnesium ions to the filtered water. As part of a multi-stage filtering process, the new, unique BWT cartridge not only removes harmful substances and calcareous elements, it also enriches the drinking water with valuable magnesium ions. In this way, every drink of water provides the body with valuable minerals. In addition, the water tastes better as do drinks prepared with it, e.g. coffee and tea release their full flavour thanks to the magnesium flavour carrier.
On average, about 25mg magnesium are supplied to the filtered water with a total water hardness of 10° dH; i.e., if you drink four glasses (0.25 l) of BWT filtered water every day, you will cover 10 % of your recommended daily magnesium requirement.
The new BWT water filtering system combines enjoyment with a healthy way of life - ideal for todays modern lifestyle
